I went into town after work today to see if I could pre-order the collector's edition of 'World of Warcraft' which is due for release on Friday 11th February. I walked to every possible computer game selling store and after two hours of getting no joy I really had to wonder why I'd even bothered. Here's my success rate for info...

GAME x2 - First quarter of the year but no details of when game will be arriving.
HMV x2 - Release date of 11th Feb but no plans to sell collector's edition.
Virgin x2 - Release date of 11th of Feb but no actual games on order???
Gamestation x2 - End of March sometime. Possibly.
Computer Exchange - No plans to sell World of Warcraft at all.
Toys R Us - World of what?

What is wrong with these people? Has noone told them what a massive success this game has been across the rest of world. There's over 400,000 Americans alone trying to play this game everyday. For the time being I've placed an online order to get the standard version for a mere £17.99 in the hope that I'll be able to obtain a copy of the collector's edition when the local shops actually wake up to just how popular this game is. Idiots!

Watched 'Ichi the Killer' on Saturday with Jo and Dave. Not a bad movie but I wish someone would explain to me just why it's often touted as some kind of classic. I mean it was okay but it hardly lives up to the hype. The story was a confusing mess and the violence/gore was comedic rather than horrifying. I was going to watch the second disc to try and understand the more ambiquious aspects of the film but then realised I really couldn't be bothered.

Stayed up until 3:30am this morning to watch the Superbowl which wasn't bad but at the same time wasn't that special either. Regretted my decision even more when I woke up at 6:30am this morning. Must remember not to sleep in on Sunday mornings so that I can actually get to sleep on the nights. Three hours sleep is not a good way to start the working week.

Going round to Jo's place tomorrow night for pancakes. Yum!

4:45 pm - Blah!
Well, after fourteen long years of dedicated service to the same place it's finally been revealed that my whole department is surplus to requirements and so as of 30th November 2008 I will no longer be employed at HFC Bank. Really don't know what I'll do next but it's about time I got off my lazy ass and started working in a job I actually enjoy. The fact that Jo is about to start a new job on a higher wage than me is indicative of the fact my efforts have been unappreciated and underpaid for far too long. It's been an odd kind of week at work after the announcement and so I'm going to take out my frustrations tonight on the climbing wall and conquer the overhang that defeated me last week. Rar!

By the way....

1. Dark Knight is THE movie of 2008.
2. Weight lost so far = 16lbs.
3. Start swimming next week.
4. Out for Tammy's bday tomorrow.
5. Off to play Braid for a bit :)

1:15 am - Over the last few months I have decided that....
1. The new Ladytron album is way better than I had expected.

2. The new Pendulum album is a big cheesey pile of steaming poop.

3. Fake beaches in the middle of Birmingham will always look cheap and tacky.

4. Iron Man is probably the best superhero movie yet. The Dark Knight will no doubt change that.

5. You know you've been playing too much GTA IV when you start looking for pigeons to shoot on the way to work.

6. Derbyshire is one of my favourite counties in the UK. (Will probably upload some holiday photos soon)

7. £24 is way too much for a haircut that only takes fifteen minutes to do.

8. I just knew someone like Jesus Jones were going to support at the Wonderstuff gig I can't go to. *sob*

9. I must get myself some more tattoos before the end of the year.

10. If you can find an enemy of your enemies then you've found yourself a friend.

7:00 pm - Moving House
For those people that have offered to help Jo and I move into our new flat, we will be moving the small boxes and other stuff on Saturday 19th January and then the larger furniture in a van on Sunday 27th January (official moving in day) Any help will be very much appreciated so if you can spare some time leave a message below and I'll get back to you with times and places. Alternatively give Jo a call on her mobile. Thank you :)

11:45 pm - Lucky Seven
1. By this time next month Jo and I will have moved into our new apartment in Harborne. Much excitement. Photos to follow shortly.
2. Forget your Facebooks and your Youtubes, Pandora.com is the most incredible site on the internet. Well, for this week anyway.
3. Along with other stuff Jo bought me an Xbox 360 for Christmas. I'm a spoilt little puppy sometimes.
4. There's a gym about 300 yards from our new place. Thank God! I broke the 15 stone barrier over Christmas. No more fat bastard.
5. Felt really deflated after our unsuccessful Shadowlabs run on Monday night. Hope we can get it out the way before Sunday night.
6. Got our tickets for the Mighty Boosh in November. How annoying is it that touts mean you have to get tickets so far in advance?
7. Was a bit unsure before hand but I had a great night out on Saturday. Probably the most I've danced in ages.

6:00 pm - Question
I know this is a long shot but does anyone fancy seeing Shiny Toy Guns with Jo and me on Monday 23rd July.
The concert is at Barfly, Birmingham and tickets are £7. I've already ordered ours from Ticketmaster.com :)

I notice Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly and Nitzer Ebb have decided to avoid Birmingham yet again.

The buggers!!!

8:00 pm - This is the News...
On Saturday Chris and Jodie finally got married after what seems like an age of planning. I was one of three ushers and got kitted out in a suit with all the trimmings. Everything went according to plan with no hiccups and I really enjoyed the entire day. Jo looked absolutely stunning as one of the bridesmaids as I'm sure the photos of the day will testify. On the night we stopped over at the hotel where the reception took place which meant the following day we had full use of the spa and pool facilities which was the perfect way to end a wonderful weekend.

Went to see 300 which was a bit meh really. Have also seen Sunshine which I thought was absolutely amazing until the last quarter of the film when it became quite tedious and predictable. Jo and I also went to see Bridge to Terabithian which we both really enjoyed even if the CGI was keep to a bare minimum. Somewhat false advertising if you ask me. Over the following weeks I'm looking forward to 28 Weeks Later, Pirates of the Caribbean and Zodiac.

Last month my guild in Warcraft split up which meant having to find another one to join if I was going to continue end game raiding. Ultimately I couldn't be bothered starting over with a new guild and so have instead been leveling up a new Paladin Draenei along with Jo, Dave and Chris' new characters. Still haven't been playing the game that much though. Instead God of War II is occupying most of my gaming time at the moment. It is after all one of the best games ever, ever!

A few weeks ago I got really ill for the 3rd time in my life. Once was at a friend's house in Coventry, another was at my uncle and auntie's place in Worcester and the third time was while visiting Hope in the US. This time I think it was food poisioning and it literally knocked me off my feet for two days. Thankfully Jo came and looked after me on the first night which is when I had it the worst. I won't go into details but it got a little bit worrying, while in a delusional state, David Beckham who was staying in my living room started complaining about the state of my bathroom *twitch*

Thanks to Pete for introducing me to Celldweller. Can't get enough of this guy. He plays exactly the kind of music I love. A cross between Tool, BT, Pendulum, Orgy, Fear Factory etc etc. Amazing production throughout and even if he can sound a little commercial or cheesy at times I still think his album is one of my all time favourites. Linky. Also loving the Shiney Toy Guns album at the moment although I've probably over played it now along with new one by NIN which has been far more interesting than I could of wished for. Survivalism still sucks big hairy monkey balls though.

In other news...

11:30 pm - I Got Me Some New Hair

I got my hair cut today after leaving work. I managed to take a few quick photos in my kitchen before the light faded all together. I'm hiding them behind every available Photoshop filter because for the passed couple of days I've had the man flu and feel and look like shite. Anyway, a proper update to follow in the next few days when I feel less like death.

12:30 am - Birthday and Stuff
Right! Saturday's party starts around 5ish so feel free to head over any time after that. There will be loads of food and drink so come with an empty stomach. If there's anyone who said they were coming but can no longer make it please can you raise your hand now so that I can get a rough idea on numbers.

In other news, I'm in love with 'Heroes'. Possibly one of the best TV series in many a year. Jo is completely up to date where as I have a few more episodes to catch up.

We're off to see '300' on Sunday morning. Not got high hopes for the plot or script but should be a visual blast all the same.

I'm finally attuned to Karazhan. In fact my first run through is at 6pm tomorrow. It's taken a lot of effort to get this far. Gief me epix plx!!!

I lost £10 at work yesterday. In the space of 3hrs it disappeared from my pocket. I hate wasting money.

P.s Trent Reznor is a work shy fop! I now have tickets to see two rescheduled NIN gigs in August. On Tuesday and Thursday nights O_o

8:25 pm - Merry Christmas from Tapeworm

As most of you know, I haven't been very sociable lately. Most of my time has been spent playing end game instances on Warcraft with the rest of my guild. As a result I have found myself neglecting both my journal and my friends. I do hope to remedy this situation in the new year but with the Burning Crusade expansion being released in mid January my chances of success are looking pretty slim at the moment. That said, I do wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I hope you have a wonderful time over the next few days. See you soon xx

6:15 pm - OMG!!!!11
OMG! The Wildhammer Warcraft server is down for 36hrs due to extended maintenance. It feels like I've had my right arm chopped off *deep breaths* Ah well, at least it gives me some time to update this thing again after putting it off for so long. Not that I've got that much news to report but here are the edited highlights anyway.

1. Been playing hell of a lot of Warcraft recently since starting up a new character in preparation for the Burning Crusade expansion. I've managed to get my Undead Warrior 'Tapeworm' up to level 59 already and hope to be level 60 by the end of the week. I'm in a great guild called 'Dead on Arrival' who are very helpful and keen to get everyone up to a decent level so that we can do some of the major raids together. We have over 100 regular members and often use Vent to chat with each other.

2. Went to see 'The Prestige' last week with Jo, Chris and Jodie. It's an incredible movie and well worth seeing. I wasn't really convinced by all the reviews I'd seen before going but since watching the film it's been hard to think of much else. It's definitely going to be a DVD purchase when it comes out sometime next year.

3. Off to Memorabilia next week with all the regular attendes. I just hope it's better than the last one we went to which was a little bit disappointing. Should be much larger this time though and the line up of guests is looking pretty impressive even though I rarely make time to talk to them anymore. We're on a mission to find Jo some Living Dead Dolls she likes the look of while I'll probably pick up a few cheap DVDs and stuff.

4. Work is pretty depressing at the moment. Close to half of the staff in my department have just found out they'll be losing their jobs with the bank sometime in the first half of 2007. Thankfully I've missed the drop this time but I'm not too optamistic about my future with the company and so will start looking around for new work very shortly just in case they decide to lay the rest of us off.

5. Had a great time on Friday at The House of Mojo celebrating Sam's birthday. It was like being in gaming heaven for a few hours and I just wish we could of stayed a little bit longer for the Halo deathmatch but Jo was in work early the next day. Glad I wasn't up to going to Edwards No 8 on the Saturday night though. For those that don't know, the only club that I go to with my friends in Birmingham burnt down after a fire in the toilets. Glad to hear everyone got out alright but I do feel for all those that lost there belongings in the cloakroom. Hopefully something better will replace the club but I'm not going to hold my breath.

6. Laugh along with the Youtube baby and 4,000,000 other people and then marvel at the world's meanest babysitter.

Right, I'm off to find something else to do with myself that doesn't include constantly checking the server status of Warcraft. Might even have a go at starting Final Fantasy X which I've still yet to play through. Hopefully see most of you next weekend but until then take care and please avoid any burning nightclubs.
